His post gave me a lot to think about.

No one gets bigger, stronger, etc in the gym. They get bigger & stronger eating and sleeping after. Throw in that none of us are spring chickens and it amplifies it.
I am convinced that it takes more internal strength to listen to one's worn out frame and take a down day than to be stubborn & a slave to the sessions.
If you needed a refeed nutritionally, you would. Why not one for the whole body & mind????

Another great post, thanks Todd.

BUMP!
Week 4: Day Chest/Back Power
Flat BB Bench ME
5x45, 5x55, 5x65, 5x75, 5x95, 5x125, 5x135, 5x145, 5x150, 2x160
Inc DB Flyes 10x40, 10x45
CG Seated Row ME
5x60, 5x70, 5x80, 5x90, 5x100, 5x110, 5x120, 5x140, 4x145
1-Arm DB Row 5, 6, 5 x90
Chins 4, 3 extra work
Cardio
10 min Stepmill
30 min Precor amt
.
.
.
Chest ME went extremely well. Before today, incline press was my best bench press exercise. My best flat bench effort was 2x135, so my goal was to increase reps. Once I lifted the weight, I knew that I would meet my rep goal and that I could press more. I threw in a few more sets to see what I could do and got up to 160lbs. I'm kinda strong .
Seated and dumbbell rows were solid as well.
While doing cardio, I read the latest isuse of MD and visualized what I want to look like on stage.
Weight is up slightly because of my cycle. I'll weigh again on Wednesday and report back to Layne.
Have a great day .

True dat....
And I recently discovered that as the intensity rises, the disparity between those 3 stool legs does also. That training leg gets a LOT longer compared to the other 2, so to keep everything in balance you need to bring the same resolve to all. Now this does not mean working even longer & harder, but rather more efficiently. "Less is more", and also applying this to the other 2 legs. Need a down day training? Take it, but use it to get the other aspects of life back in balance. Do the family thing, those chores that get put off, a lil' time for the inner person inside the pages of a good book. No one would pick up a bar with one side loaded with plates & the other almost empty and expect to balance it.....why should life be any different.
Leave a trail of total destruction in the gym, but leave it there....
