No one does rows anymore???
I was in the gym today doing my heavier sets on the barbell rows. One new member to the gym(he's been working out for 30 yrs) commented to me that i was doing a very old school exercise, cept back in the day people used to stand on the bench and was incredibly parallel. Besides me an my workout partner i see very few people actually do barbell rows.
What gives? I thought doing rows was suppose to be a great basic exercise. Does anyone else do barbell rows or is there some sort of problem associated with doing them???

I'm not sure wtf people at your gym are talking about...
I have rows in my program and I see people at my gym doing them regularly too.

I see rows and do them all the time as well.
Except barbell bent over rows. I just personally dislike that exercise very much.

I think people either don't do them because they don't know the correct form, or simply because they don't want to touch these major compound exercises.
I've seen another 3 or so people do barbell rows at my gym. Same goes for squats and deadlifts -I've seen maybe 2 people do these properly.

lol kinda the same at my gym, I do see people squating regulary but i see very few people actual doing deadlifts! No joke, me and my workout partner are 2 of the 4-5 guys that deadlift(with heavy weight). I've only seen people do 135lb deadlifts and then stop at that. I weight about 80lbs less and can deadlift 3x more then the big guys at my gym

Me too x 100.
I really hate those. I just do t-bar and dumbbell rows.
Most people at those commercial gyms don't do any of the compound lifts.
I've only seen two people deadlift at my gym. I think I've seen two people squat in the squat rack (not with the smith machine). With the smith maybe 3 or 4.
Rows? Forget it.
I've seen more people do power cleans and snatches than all the other compound lifts combined. (44 pounds being the heaviest)

They're around. I rotate Hammer Strength Iso Rows, D.B. Rows, and B.B. Rows. My favorite is D.B. rows but I can rep out the 100lb. D.B. 15 times. I wish my gym went to 125 lb. : (.

I see a few do these.
What i NEVER see, is anyone doing deadlifts.
Ive only ever seen one guy do deadlifts and that was with a really light weight (he was probably just warming up) but he never increased the weight. I go to the gym 4 times a week, and not always at the same time so i see different kinds of people go, but never ever seen anyone deadlift. I bet people wonder wtf im doing when i do them.

I love rows. I like bent over rows but once you get heavier it hurts your back. Might use a bench to lay on to get more parallel though. Upright rows are win too.

Same. . .
There is only 1 bench press, and 3 dumbbell benches so basically everyone is stood waitin for them. And the music is all pop and stuff , and bright colours everywhere :| it is more of a health spar, and it is ALWAYS packed full of people in there. i just put my headphones in and put my music on the oudest it goes and lift!!
i only go because its pretty cheap for students.
